The Order of the Golden Fleece

The Setting

This adventure takes place in a Greek Mythology inspired world called Halox. Halox is run by the same gods of the Greek Pantheon, but only centers around Hera, Zeus and Ares. The island of Halox has dangerous beasts, a history of war, and political upheaval.

The Gods don’t walk among the people as they have often been known to communicate with mortals and tell them secrets. Shrouded in mystery, these beings stand like guards over the island with a presence in Hera’s Lighthouse and Zeus’ Temple.

While they are not omnipotent, they vastly outpower mortal beings and they reward those who serve them when they are called on.

The King of Solon is a warrior king and often the island of Halox is called on to aid in wars across the mainland. This adventure will focus on events solely in Halox and will not go into a larger setting.

Adventure Summary

Chapter One: The Argo Games

Chapter One focuses on several adventuring parties answering the call of the games. Set in the major city of Solon, the Argo Games are performed once a year and features people across Halox in a show of strength. Often, the Games are dedicated to Hera and Zeus, the patrons of the island. Your adventurers will join the games, choose from several types of contests, and try the ones they are most interested in. Towards the end of the games an unexpected visitor arrives and turns the games upside down.

Chapter Two: The Investigation

Your adventurers follow the other adventuring parties, the very same participants of the Argo Games, to collect information and figure out who is the culprit for the attack on Solon. The party is able to talk to some of the contestants and investigate the rooms of the others.

Chapter Three: A Calamitous Event

In this final chapter of the adventure, the party goes deep into the Dead Lands in search of the site where the Order of the Golden Fleece is trying to resurrect Ares. The adventurers arrive in the town of Old Solon where The Order is using arcane energy left behind from the last disaster to release the soul held within the Ares Soul Volcano.
